December 10-13 Results

After an eminently forgettable weekend to start December, great to see the Wildcats rebound across Senior & Junior levels.
Untold nuggets among the various storylines:

• Lochie Oconn singled in his Firsts’ debut and squared the ball up in each of his at bats.
• Fantastic to see Liam Evans back at Napier Park & then @ Fitzroy where he line umpired in the Firsts.
• Great to see father-son Trifon Stafilis & Zac Stafilis play their first senior game together for the Club.
• Congrats to the Mighty Mako John Makeham who played the first of his 500th game for the Club, an experience, which according to Robyn Karlsen, our keeper of the records, will last well into the New Year!!
• Great to see ex-Pres Terry Fitzgerald suited up & in the dugout as part of the seemingly never-ending Mako party.
• Huge shout out to David Jackson, Declan O’Connor & Lochie Oconn for umpiring the Juniors on Sunday morning.
• Bigger shout out to Joshua White & Dean G. Ferris for volunterring at next to no notice to umpire the Fourths & Thirds respectively. Absolutely fantastic.
• For those that may have missed it congrats to Tyler Evans Ned Hargreaves & Alek Siddans for being selected in the U18 Victorian Showcase squads.

PARTY TIME
Yes, just five more sleeps to the Waverley Baseball Club Xmas Party!!!
The weather gods look set to shine down upon Napier Park so bring your deckchairs, rugs & enjoy the cameraderie of the Wildcats family.
Santa will be appearing later in the afternoon; ALL our Firsts & Seconds players will be in attendance; manager extraordinaire John Darby will have have a table set up to sign autographs; there will be a sausage sizzle & the bar will be open.
Kick off time is 2pm., but arrive early to cheer on our undefeated Women’s team who will be playing on the Main Diamond from 1pm.
