2024/25 Senior Finals System

A number of people have enquired about the upcoming finals.  This post endeavours to explain the way finals will work this year.

Please note that the Premier League Firsts system is quite complex.  I’ve done my best, but you may still find it confusing!

Double-elimination system between the top 8 teams following the home and away season.  In the double-elimination system, a team is eliminated once it loses two matches.  This is very hard to explain, however the attached diagram is my best attempt to explain it.  Click on the thumbnail to see an enlarged diagram attempting to explain how the system works.

Baseball Victoria has also published the finals schedule for all senior competitions and double-elimination system here.  You may find this easier to understand.

Please don’t shoot the messenger here … I’m simply trying to explain the system that has been devised for this year.

All other Men’s and Women’s divisions will play the Page finals system.  Under this system:

• Week 1 (Semi Finals): 1st plays 2nd (Second Semi Final), with the winner going directly into the Grand Final to be played in a fortnight, while the loser goes into the Preliminary Final where they will play the winner of 3rd vs 4th (First Semi Final).  The loser of the First Semi Final is eliminated
• Week 2 (Preliminary Final): Loser of Second Semi Final plays winner of First Semi Final with the winner going into the Grand Final and the loser eliminated
• Week 3 (Grand Final): Winner of Second Semi Final plays winner of Preliminary Final with the winner being Premiers
• Week 3 (Grand Final): Winner of 1st vs 2
